Today we’re sharing an adorable Ice Cream Party that we recently had the pleasure to style.

There’s no better way to celebrate warm sunny days than with an Ice Cream Party!   It’s one of those Party Themes that is certainly enjoyed by children and adults alike…Who doesn’t LOVE Ice Cream?  The Ice Cream dessert table was the focal point of the party.  Maggie and I had a blast baking and preparing all the Ice Cream inspired Treats.   The Ice Cream Cake was actually a  delicious marble cake.  We also made ice cream cone cupcakes, ice cream cone chocolate pops, cherry on top cake pops and a sundae toppings bar.

Ice Cream Party suppliesThe Show stopper of the party was our Ice Cream Truck Stand.  How cute is that?  It is is available at the shop, here.  In the stand we displayed Ice Cream Cupcakes, the toppings bar and paper cones with mini ice cream marshmallows.  We also loved our Ice Cream Honey Comb decorations!  How adorable is our Tissue Ice Cream Sundae, Banana Split and Ice Cream cones?  They added a Retro touch to the decor!  I can’t get enough of them!!

Enchanted Fairy Party

Enchanted Fairy Party

Today I’m sharing some photos of my daughter’s Enchanted Fairy Party.  I was so honored to be featured on none other than the Hostess with the Mostess Blog.

Fairy Birthday Party

Fairy Birthday PartyParty Details:

My daughter Sophia is obsessed with fairies.  As soon as she gets home from pre-school she puts on her tutu and fairy wings and submerges herself in the magical world of Fairies.  For her 4th Birthday choosing her Party theme came so easily:  “I want an Enchanted Fairy Birthday!”

Fairy Birthday Party Dessert Table
Fairy Birthday Party Dessert Table The dessert table décor had a lot of natural elements like flowers, butterflies, woodland animals, green moss and woodsy props.

Pink-Ombre-CakeThe pink Ombre Cake was beautifully adorned with a delicate gold butterfly banner.

I also displayed French Madeleine cookies in wooden berry baskets adorned with small birds.  I DIYed the pretty flower stools where the fairies sat and I actually posted the tutorial a while ago, here.

Sweet treats included a delicious marble cake, strawberry cupcakes, French madeleines with dulce de leche, mini donuts and fruit salad.
The little guests turned into adorable pink fairies as soon as they arrived to the party.  They were greeted by a beautiful Fairy that organized a series of fun games and activities for the girls.  I must say that dancing around the Maypole was the highlight of the party.

Mexican Fiesta Party!

Mexican Fiesta Party!

When my sister Maggie asked her daughter Isabella about a Theme for her Birthday, she replied “I want lots of bright flowers and I would love to eat my favorite food:  Tacos!!”  We instantly knew that a Mexican Fiesta was the perfect party theme for her 9th birthday celebration!

Mexican Fiesta-viablossom-001

Mexican Fiesta- Viablossom-003Our mother’s tropical back yard was the ideal setting for the party because of all the exotic plants.  We recreated a “Taqueria” or Taco Stand for all the savory foods and drinks.  We served homemade mini tacos, bite size burritos and cones filled with chips in our Mexican Fiesta Food Truck.  We also served fresh guacamole and salsa.  The guests had a choice of watermelon-lemonade and authentic Mexican soda served in our plastic soda bottles.  We made flower arrangements with colorful glass bottles and  tin cans.  The mini cactus plants added a fun Mexican touch to the stand.  Our Taqueria sign was handcrafted and painted by us and the yellow pompom garland added the final touch! We Diyed colorful tablecloths by cutting long stripes of colorful fabric.  They added a festive touch to the whole party.

Mexican Fiesta- Viablossom-002The dessert station had a gorgeous backdrop.  We turned tissue Pompoms into large flowers…just the way Isabella had wished.  The cake was decorated with butter-cream rosettes and was topped with a miniature pineapple.  For desserts we made tropical sugar cookies, churros with a chocolate dipping sauce, vanilla cupcakes and chocolate truffles were displayed in our Petite Cups.  We also served jello in the cutest mini margarita glasses and Mexican wedding Cookies in our Petite Blossom Cups.

Mexican-Fiesta--Viablossom-

Mexican Fiesta Viablossom - 012The girls sat in a long festive table adorned with a Mexican Banner.  We made cake pop flowers with our signature Petite Blossom Cups.  Each place setting featured gorgeous Mexican Fiesta plates with glass bottles.  Our Mexican Food Truck was the perfect centerpiece for the table.  The girls had fun helping themselves with tacos, burritos and chips.

We had an array of activities to make Isabella’s  party extra fun like “Pin the Tail to the Donkey,” lots of dancing, arts and crafts, among others.  The girls went home with a wooden berry basket filled with goodies.

We are so thankful and happy we celebrated this party for Isabella.  Her heart is as vibrant and beautiful as her party!!

Our Guide to Planning a Tea Party

The Tea Party Theme is by far one of the most popular party themes available at Via Blossom.  It is one of those very versatile themes that fit multiple occasions like a Wedding, a Bridal Shower, a Baby Shower or a Girl Party.  If you’re planning on hosting a Tea Party, then use our guide to Planning a Tea Party as a way to gather every element and detail to make your celebration unforgettable.

Guide to Planning a Tea Party

I-  Let the Treasure Hunt Begin…

Tea-Party-Antique-Hunt1. Vintage Bottles. 2. Tea Cans. 3. Mix and Match Tea Cups. 4. Old Books. 5. Mix and Match plates.  6. Teapots 7. Glass Bell Cloches 8. Birdcages.

Look around your house for props for the party.  I surprise myself each time I throw a party by the variety of little treasures I find around my house, especially in my pantry, cabinets and attic.  Old vases, teacups, mason jars, food cans, cake stands, little picture frames, tablecloths, old Fabric, figurines  etc… After making an inventory of all the props I already own, I grab my bag and visit thrifts stores, flea markets and finally  antique shops.  I do it in this order because I go from very inexpensive to higher priced stores.  Be on the lookout for hobnail and milk glass vases and cake stands.  Mismatched porcelain teacups are also great!  They add a Shabby Chic flair to your party.  I also, look for antique bottles since they add so much character to the decor.

II-  Tea party decoration ideas:

Tea-Party-decoration-Ideas1. Teacup Favors  2. Hanging Teacups 3. Teapot Chandelier 4. Tier Flower Tower  5. Candlestick Teacups 6. Umbrella Centerpiece 7. Teacup Flower Arrangements 8. Teacup Candles

Think outside the box and wow your guests with a few unexpected decorations while still maintaining a traditional feel.  Teacups can be hanged from a tree or they can be piled up to make beautiful floral centerpieces.  Teacups can also be turned into candle holders as seen here.  I love the idea of creating a backdrop of Teacups that will be given as Party Favors to the guests.  A teapot chandelier could certainly add a fun twist to your Tea party decor.  Or how about using parasols as centerpieces?

III-  Let’s get some darling Tea Party Supplies

Tea-party-supplies-viabloss

2.  Gold Cupcake Wrappers:  They add a touch of elegance to your Cupcakes

5.  Glass Milk Bottles:  Perfect for Girl parties

6.  Petite Blossom Cups:  They bring the floral pattern of your decor to life!  Just insert a small Chocolate Truffle or Mini Dessert at the center of the Flower for a very adorable arrangement.

7.  Tea Party Plates:  Our floral plates will add a sophisticated porcelain feel.

8.  Tea Party Napkins:  They are so delicate and pretty!

9.  Doilies:  A Tea Party without pretty Doilies is not a Tea Party

Tea-Party-party-supplies 1.  Birdcage Banner:  I love the nostalgia and elegance in this banner

2.  Petite Blossom Cups:  Very appropriate for the occasion

3.  Birdcage Cupcake Wrappers:  These are my very favorite from the shop!  I love the bold pattern in them!

4.  Mini Teacups:  They are a must!  You can fit a mini Cupcakes or any candy in them!

5. and 6.  Divine Aqua and Luscious Pink Stands:  They are simply exquisite!  Perfect for displaying delicious Mini Desserts. IV. Perfectly Sweet and Savory Tea Party Food

Tea Party Food Ideas 1. Small Sandwiches. 2. Rosette Mini Desserts 3. Chicken & Spinach Spinwheels 4.Roast Tomato and Goat Cheese Quiche. 5. Flower Ice 6. Raspberry Tartlets  7. Violet Macaroons 8. Cake pops 9. Russian Tea Cakes 10. Raspberry Meringue Rosette

A combination of Savory and Sweet is ideal.  The traditional Tea Sandwiches will never go out of style; delicious recipe, here.  Two other savory Hors D’oeuvre  that fit the occasion are  Mini Quiches and Chicken and Spinach Spinwheels; recipes here and here.   The sky is the limit when it comes to mini desserts for a tea party.  These are few winning recipes:  Raspberry- lemon Curd Tartlets, Violet Macaroons, Russian Tea Cakes and Raspberry Meringue Rosettes.  I love the idea of making flower ice cubes with edible flowers.  I really need to try it!

Spooktacular Halloween Party Ideas

Halloween is around the corner!!  If you’re planning a Halloween Party, you do not want to miss this post.  It is filled with creative dessert ideas, wicked party supplies and inspiration.

1. Choosing a Party Theme:  Cute or Creepy?  That is the question.   If you’re throwing a Halloween Party for young children keep it cute and colorful.  Halloween Themes like Candy Corn, Witches, Owls, Bats and even glittered Skulls are perfectly cute for the kiddos.

Cute or Creepy Halloween PartySource:  Amy Atlas

However, if the Halloween Party is intended for teenagers or adults, creepy themes are better.  Avoid glitter when decorating and use props that look real, like tombstones, skulls in their organic state, crows and mice.  Looking for inspiration in famous movies like “The Birds” is a great way to find the perfect theme for your Party.

A Mysterious Halloween Party

halloween party ideas

We created a Halloween Party that could be enjoyed by all guests, ages 0 to 100. While sophisticated and dramatic for the adults, it was intriguing for the little ones.   Our unconventional Halloween color palette was composed of black, pinkish wine, silver and white. This color palette added mystery and drama to the decor.
